Our Story Timeline
April 2024
We met in April; both of us at our wit's end from the modern dating scene 😩After meeting we quickly hit it off because of our shared interest in rock climbing, movies, and reading. Here we see us on our first official date.
June 2024
After quickly becoming close, we went on a camping trip to Big Bear, California. We had a ton of fun, but on the last climb on day 1, Trent had a long fall and broke his ankle. Fortunately, we will not be sharing pictures of this, so instead we decided to show us doing our favorite activity after climbing -- getting bubble tea.
October-December 2024
After our mishap climbing, we decided it was probably best to stay around Las Vegas for a few months. We spent our time in Vegas watching musicals, getting to know each other's friend groups, and rehabing Trent's ankle 🦶. At the musicals, we found a new hobby: taking our picture in every cutout we see. The time at home gave us plenty of opportunities to plan travel for the upcoming year....
January 2025
As the weather cooled down in Vegas, we were ready to challenge Trent's freshly healed ankle on some Las Vegas "snow." It was Miki's first time snowboarding in a long time, and also her turn to sustain an injury. Thankfully it was only cosmetic.
February 2025
Next up on our travel itinerary: Hawaii. Trent had never been to Hawaii, and Miki wanted to introduce Trent to her family. The trip allowed Miki to pretend to be a tourist, and Trent got to play in the ocean almost every day. Secretly, Trent had an opportunity to talk to Miki's parents and ask an IMPORTANT question. We ended our trip with a nice and impromptu sunrise hike before our flight home.
March 2025
A quick turn around later, Miki and Trent headed up to Seattle to assist Trent's sister, Taylor, with apartment hunting. Even though we were only in town for a short 48 hours, we managed to see the Space Needle, spend a morning in Pike's Place, and visit Meridath Gray's house!!!! We also were able to fit in time to visit Trent's friends in Portland, and eat (almost) all of his favorite foods.
May 2025
After a little more than a year of concerts, movies, and climbs, Trent had only one thing left to do -- pop the big question. He had planned on having a intimate outdoor proposal, but impatience got the better of him. During a quiet day at home, having spent all day together enjoying each other's company, Trent had an epiphany; these were the days he wanted to remember. So he decided to ask Miki right then and there. She said yes, and they lived happily ever after (and started planning a wedding).
